Austin is the Founder and Managing Partner of Startup Venture Advisors (SVA). He specializes in the representation of start-ups and emerging growth companies as their outside general counsel throughout the various stages of their life cycle including corporate formation, structuring and governance matters, commercial transactions, venture capital financing transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. He also represents venture capital investors in pre-seed through pre-IPO financing rounds.

Prior to SVA, Austin was a Counsel at Perkins Coie LLP, one of the top corporate law firms in the world, where he spent seven years in their emerging companies and venture capital practice serving as outside general counsel to some of the highest profile technology companies. Austin is also an active investor in the startup space.

In 2025, Austin was named as a Rising Star by Super Lawyer Magazine.

Outside of work, Austin can be found spending time with his wife and daughter in the outdoors, particularly hiking, skiing, camping, cycling, rock climbing, and playing soccer. He grew up in southern California and has been an FC Barcelona since 2004.
